Using Flower & Vibrational Essences

Essences are normally taken orally 4 drops on or under the tongue.

We suggest that you allow the essence to mix with the saliva in the mouth for a few moments before swallowing. It is usually better to take your essence at least ten minutes away from food and drink. Ensure when taking the essence that the glass dropper does not touch the tongue or the essence may become contaminated.

If you're using a spray Essence then you can either spray it liberally in your auric field or alternatively any of our spray essences can also be used orally.

This is perhaps one of the questions we are asked most often and the answer depends on which of our essences groups you are wishing to work with. For example the Bach Flower Remedies can be used alongside any of our other essence ranges.

However, with most of our deeper acting essences and the combinations in particular, we recommend taking one at a time until the bottle is finished, then assess where you are and select your next essence in the same way. This enables you to focus on each of the issues that you have identified as needing support in turn and the essences will be able to work at their maximum capacity.

Essences are usually taken 2-8 times a day depending on the essence range used and the age of the person taking the essences. Recommended dosage for all our ranges can be found here: How to Use Flower & Vibrational Essences

From a Bach Flower Remedy stock bottle, put 2 drops (4 drops of Revival Remedy combination) from each of the stock bottles that you have selected, into a clean glass dropper bottle containing no more than 30ml of spring or spa water, together with a teaspoon of brandy or cider vinegar as a preservative. We are often asked whether its possible to dilute any of our single or combination flower, gem & crystal essences to make a treatment level essence. This is not something that we usually recommend for any of our essences, apart from Bach Flower Remedies. The reason for this is that in our experience when you take these essences directly from stock you get a much deeper acting effect from them than if you were to dilute them down. This means that an essence taken from stock tends to clear and release patterns more deeply and with greater effect. All of our essences are at stock level and so it is possible to dilute them, but if you do you won't get this deeper acting effect in the same way. There may be occasions when this would be appropriate, or there are good reasons to do it, but as a general rule we would usually recommend that you use them directly from stock. The time it takes an Essence to work can vary considerably depending on how sensitive you are to Essences and on how deeply held the emotional / mental pattern, issue or state is. Generally we recommend taking an essence until the bottle is finished. Sometimes an essence will have an immediate effect and you will feel a shift almost straight away. At other times the process happens on a subtle level over a longer period of time as the old patterns and layers are peeled away, like the layers of an onion. This is really a very good sign, however for those of us who have become used to visiting the doctors for something to take away our symptoms it might feel a little strange or even disturbing at first. Do be reassured that this is both temporary and helpful. As part of the emotional clearing process, sometimes the issues you’re working on can seem to be amplified while taking essences.

Under these circumstances it is better not to stop taking the essences completely but to reduce the dose to perhaps 2 or 3 x a day until you feel more comfortable. A combination of the appropriate Bach Flower Remedies will also often help to bring balance to how you feel. We recommend that you take time to meditate, rest, spend time in nature, exercise and practice other types of self-care to support the process of personal and spiritual transformation that happens when you use essences.

If you are comparatively new to taking essences you may find that it is a little while before you notice big changes in yourself. Essences work slowly and subtly over a period of time so be patient and know that change is taking place gradually. Very often if you look back over a period of a few months of taking essences you will be able to see a change in the way you react to the situations and events in your life which is new and positive. You may notice that situations or dynamics which previously bothered you are no longer an issue.

Unlike chemical medicines vibrational essences are basically self-adjusting. If you choose an essence that you do not really need it will simply cancel itself out in your body’s energy system.

We offer a number of different bottle sizes. To help you to decide which size you need, here are the approximate quantity of drops in each of the different sizes and how long the bottle will last at a normal adult dosage:

10ml: there are approximately 200 drops in a 10ml bottle. This equates to about 50 doses ( 4 drops on tongue ) and when used 4 drops 4 x a day will last approximately 12.5 days.

25ml: there are approximately 550 drops in a 25ml bottle. This equates to about 136 doses ( 4 drops on tongue ) and when used 4 drops 4 x a day will last approximately 34 days.

15ml ( Rainbow Light Body & Inner Child only ): there are approximately 300 drops in a 15ml bottle. This equates to about 75 doses ( 4 drops on tongue ) and when used 4 drops 4 x a day will last approximately 19 days.

30ml Spray: there are approximately 230 sprays per 30ml bottle.

50ml Spray: there are approximately 385 sprays per 50ml bottle.

Simply add 4 drops of each chosen remedy to your pet’s water bowl, bucket or food bowl and continue daily until you notice a difference. It’s fine if multiple animals in the same household share bowls since the essences will bring balance to any pets who need them and simply have no effect on those who do not.

We offer Revival Remedy in a spray version which can also be sprayed around your pet’s bedding or sprayed on your hands so you can massage the essence into their fur.

Essences for Animals

It is best to store essences in a cool dark place away from excessive heat such as fires and radiators. Do not place near TV's, microwaves, computer screens, mobile phones, hi-fi speakers or magnets. Looked after in the right way Crystal Herbs essences will last for many years.
